Freshen the surface without careless pressure washing
Cleaning matched to the material
We adjust the method to suit the paving instead of treating every surface the same.
Joint sand restored after washing
Block paving can be re-sanded so the joints are replenished once the surface dries.
Aftercare beyond our own installs
We clean and seal surfaces laid by other contractors as well as ones we have built.
Cleaning should lift the grime, not damage the surface
Driveways and patios pick up more than a bit of dust. Moss, algae, lichen, weeds and general weathering can make the whole area look tired and, in some spots, slippery. We clean driveways, patios, paths and terraces in Romford using petrol-driven pressure washing, but the point is not to blast everything blindly and hope for the best. Different surfaces need different care, and block paving, slabs and other materials each respond differently. A proper clean can freshen the look of the property and make ongoing upkeep far less of a chore.

Re-sanding and sealing help finish the job properly
After block paving is washed, the joints often need kiln-dried sand putting back in, because the cleaning process can disturb what was there before. We can re-sand the surface once it is ready and apply sealing where that suits the material and the condition of the paving. Sealing is optional, not magic, and a typical lifespan is around two to three years. We also explain drying times, usually a few hours before walking and around 24 hours before driving. Cleaning and sealing are available for surfaces fitted by other contractors too.
Frequently asked questions
How soon can we walk or drive on the surface afterwards?
That depends on the work carried out and the conditions on the day, but as a guide it is often a few hours before walking and around 24 hours before driving. We always tell you what is sensible for the surface once the cleaning or sealing is complete.
Does block paving need re-sanding after cleaning?
Often, yes. Pressure washing can disturb the jointing sand, so replenishing it with kiln-dried sand helps put the surface back into better order. It is an important part of the process rather than an afterthought if you want the paving to perform properly.
Can you clean and seal paving you did not install?
Yes. The cleaning and sealing service is available for surfaces installed by other contractors as well. We inspect the condition first, because the best method depends on the material, the level of soiling and whether any repairs or jointing work are needed before sealing.
